I'm surprised Squaresoft got away with this one. Final Fantasy 7's Barret is basically Mr. T scanned and polygonized. He has the same tough guy attitude, given by the large use of 'Foo' and other T-esque quotes. The character model is virtually an SD (super deformed) Mr. T with a bit more hair, no gold and a gatling gun arm. The resemblance is there- see for yourself.
