The second Scary Mix was going to arrive. It simply had to be done. After the success of the first, Dstln then started thinking about these 'scary' songs. He realized that as long as there are stupid or strange people, there will be more scary music. After looking some more, he realized that he was right. MrFood and others also helped quite a bit in suggesting certain songs to this mix (you know who you are, Mr. "It's Raining Men"). Dstln got a huge pile of songs, put them on cd and took them to the next History club field trip to test it.
     Unfortunately, the initial testing didn't go so well. Some songs were indeed popular and well-received. But some were questioned as to why they were on the mix. Songs didn't seem to flow as smoothly for the SM2. Dstln, frustrated but not deterred, went back to tweak. He found many more tracks while searching. Also, he made a huge track list and made a big e-mail poll to see which tracks the listeners want the best. The listeners chose, Dstln tweaked, and the Official Scary Mix 2 was born. It has been recieved well at every event played at and many copies have been made for people who want their own SM2. This brought subsequent burnings of SM1 as well, although that one could theoretically be duplicated without Dstln's approval (although the burner would well know it wouldn't be the same and many tracks would also probably have differences).
     Post-release notes: Dstln felt like he needed to tie SM2 with the first, so a few tracks give homage (Hexman, Superfreak). Also, the new Brak/Space Ghost varieties solidified their place in the mix. Although there were two Space Ghost songs in the first, the ones on the second mix are much more humorous and deserving of being on SM. Overall, the response to the final SM2 was off the charts, and all was good. Will Dstln pass the torch?
